- How do I copy a table from a PDF into Word?
- A PDF viewer copy often pastes a picture or a jumble of line breaks. Papermeld rebuilds a native Word table when the PDF has a text layer; you then copy from Word like any other table. It does not copy from the viewer clipboard without converting, and it does not produce an editable PDF. A photographed table needs a searchable text layer first.
- Can you turn a PDF table into Excel?
- If the PDF has a text layer and a real table, Papermeld will try to hand back a workbook with cells you can sort. Sign in first. On a condensed financial statement we ran, line items stayed as rows and the totals we checked matched, but empty columns appeared between the number columns, the date headers did not land in the sheet, and three large figures arrived split — 39,678 came back as 3 9,678. A table that is only an image will not become cells. You still check the numbers against the source.
- Will the formatting get messed up?
- It can. A PDF is a drawing of a page; Word and Excel are structure. Tables, columns, and scans are the usual breaks. A rebuilt spreadsheet can keep line items as rows and still insert empty columns or split a number. Papermeld inspects the output. If a Word file has text only in boxes, or a workbook has no cell values, that output is not treated as finished. You still review the file against the source before you send it.
- Can you convert a scanned PDF?
- Papermeld can add a text layer to a scanned or image-only PDF so you can search and select text. That is the first job, not Word and not Excel. It is not character-perfect recognition. On one invoice we ran, a quantity that read “42 QTY” on the page came back as “420TY”. The file was searchable. It was not a verbatim transcript. If you still need Word or Excel, convert the searchable PDF in a second step. We do not promise a one-step scan-to-Word or scan-to-Excel file.
- Can I use this on my phone?
- There is no separate iOS or Android app. You sign in from a browser and work in the conversation. This page does not claim a native mobile app.
- Is my document safe?
- These pages do not run a lead-capture form and do not collect card numbers. Login hands you to the Papermeld conversation workspace with this brand preserved. Card payments go through Stripe inside the signed-in workspace. When analytics is on, these pages send anonymous page views to PostHog; browsers that send Do Not Track are not measured. This page does not claim a specific encryption certification or a data-retention period.
