About
Papermeld is a document conversion workspace.
Papermeld turns a source file into a format you can still work in: Excel, Word, a searchable scan, or another supported target. It keeps detected structure in view so you can check the result against the page it came from.
Key takeaways
- Papermeld is a live product on papermeld.kuca.app, not a directory of converters.
- A scan is two jobs: searchable text first, then Word or Excel if you still need them.
- A pixel-identical layout, character-perfect recognition, and a file you can skip reviewing are not promised. You still review the file.
- Starter is US$19 per month.
Who we are
Papermeld is the public brand for the document-transform product. The workspace is a conversation: you upload the source, name the output you need, and review structure notes beside the download. Nothing converts on this marketing site.
The in-repo conversion suite currently records 9 tasks, all passed. That is a test record for the conversion paths, not a published accuracy rate and not a substitute for checking the file in front of you.
How it works
- Upload the source. Upload the PDF, scan, Word file, spreadsheet, slide deck, or image, name the target format, and point out the pages, tables, or headings that matter.
- Inspect and route. Papermeld inspects the source and routes it to the supported conversion path for that format.
- Check the output. It checks the result for usable text, pages, tables, cells, or other structure expected for that target. A failed check is a failure, not a finished file.
- Download and compare. Download the file with the review notes and compare important facts and formatting against the source before you rely on it.
Where it stops
Complex layouts, irregular columns, dense tables, annotations, and scanned pages can need manual correction. Extracted figures, OCR text, summaries, and converted formatting are not a substitute for reading the source in high-stakes use.
A password-protected file has to be unlocked first. A corrupt source is not repaired into a clean original. A document with no printed table is not something to force into Excel.
What a published case is
The cases page lists conversions we ran on named, non-real files: an editable brief, a two-page operations table, and an image-only receiving sheet. Each case names the input, the output, and the check. Customer uploads are not used.
FAQ
Questions before you convert
What is Papermeld?
Papermeld is a document conversion workspace. You upload a source, name Excel, Word, a searchable scan, or another supported format, and inspect tables, headings, and page order beside the output.
What files can I bring?
Bring the source PDF, scan, Word file, spreadsheet, slide deck, or image, then name the target format and the pages, tables, headings, or layout details that matter most.
What will I receive?
When the conversion path is supported, you receive a downloadable target file plus structure checks and review notes. A failed output check returns a clear failure instead of presenting an unusable file as finished.
Can Papermeld turn a scanned PDF into Word or Excel in one step?
A scan is two jobs. First add a searchable text layer and review the recognized text. Then request Word or Excel if you still need an editor or grid. Character-perfect OCR and one-step scan conversion are not promised.
Will the formatting be identical?
Not always. Tables, columns, footnotes, images, and scanned pages can move or require manual correction, so you should compare the output with the source before relying on it.
How much does it cost?
Starter is US$19 per month. Sign in from this brand site. Checkout happens in the signed-in workspace.
